Your First Orthodontic Visit
Your first visit is designed to be informative, comfortable, and personalized to your orthodontic needs. During your appointment, you can expect to:
- Meet with your Treatment Coordinator and learn more about our practice and the orthodontic process.
- Have any necessary X-rays and photographs taken to help us evaluate your orthodontic needs.
- Meet with Dr. Nate, Dr. Theresa or Dr. Nick to review your records and discuss your diagnosis.
- Review your treatment plan and options, including recommendations tailored to your individual needs.
- Discuss financial and payment options and find a convenient plan that works for your family.

Our team will take the time to answer your questions and make sure you understand every step before moving forward.
Please let our office know about any medical conditions, allergies, or medications that may be important to your orthodontic care. This includes conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart conditions, artificial heart valves or joints, and a history of rheumatic fever, as well as medications such as heart medications, aspirin, or anticoagulants.
Keeping us informed about your medical history helps our orthodontic team provide safe, personalized care and ensure that your treatment is appropriate for your individual needs.
Length of Treatment
The length of orthodontic treatment varies from patient to patient and depends on each individual’s unique needs. Several factors can affect treatment progress, including the patient’s age, the complexity of the orthodontic concerns, the amount of tooth movement needed, and how well treatment instructions are followed.
Keeping appointments, maintaining good oral hygiene, wearing elastics or appliances as directed, and caring for your braces properly can all help keep treatment progressing as planned.
Your orthodontist will monitor your progress throughout treatment and keep you informed every step of the way.
